USB-powered car lighting can be convenient, but poor cable routing can make a simple setup look untidy or interfere with normal use of the cabin. Plan the cable path before fixing any light in place.
Start at the power source
Identify the USB outlet or compatible approved adapter first. Then work outward toward the intended lighting area so you know how much cable has to cross the cabin.
Avoid moving parts
Do not run loose cable through pedal areas, steering components or seat tracks. Also avoid routing where passengers can easily catch a cable with their feet.
Keep excess cable controlled
If a product includes more cable than you need, do not leave large loose loops around the footwell. Use a tidy, non-obstructive route appropriate to the product and cabin.
Check the route after moving seats
If a cable passes near a seat, test the full normal seat movement and make sure nothing becomes pinched, stretched or trapped.
Choose the power option that creates the cleaner route
When a product is offered in more than one power configuration, convenience is not only about the nearest socket. Consider which option creates the safest, tidiest path.
