Car-lighting product pages use a lot of short technical terms. This glossary explains the common ones in plain English so you can compare products more confidently.
LED
LED means light-emitting diode. It is the light source used in many modern decorative interior-lighting products.
RGB
RGB means red, green and blue. Combining those colour channels allows supported products to produce a range of colours.
Fibre optic
Fibre-optic ambient kits are designed to carry light along a thin line, creating a continuous trim-style accent rather than the visible points of a conventional LED strip.
USB
USB describes the power connection used by many plug-in interior accessories. Check the exact voltage and product instructions rather than assuming every USB-looking connection is interchangeable.
12V accessory power
This normally refers to a product designed for a vehicle's compatible 12V accessory socket. Use only the power method specified for the product and variant.
Bluetooth or app control
This means supported settings are adjusted through a compatible phone connection or app. Features vary between products.
Music sync
Music-sync products are designed to change their lighting behaviour in response to sound or music. This is an effect feature, not a power type.
Static colour
A static light displays one selected or fixed colour rather than cycling through animated effects.
